Joe Tobin is a new
candidate - selected to contest Waterford City East in the June local elections.
Born in Ferrybank, Joe has lived
in Glencarra, Ballybeg for 22 years. He, and his wife Patricia have two grown-up children, Maeve and Joe.
A
Bus Eireann bus driver for 30 years Joe has always been active in his union - The National Bus and Rail Union. He has held
the position of Chairperson, Secretary, and Executive Member.
Through
his union and his job Joe is very aware of the needs and hopes of the citizens of Ward 2 and, as an activist, has been fighting
for them.
An active sportsman Joe won All Ireland Squash titles in 1985 and 1987 representing the De La Salle Club.

In the forthcoming Local Elections
Joe’s priorities will be fighting service charges; preserving vital Council services for the people of Waterford, and
making Local Government more accountable.
